At the Ritz-Carlton DIFC in Dubai, an atmosphere of cultivated elegance welcomed visitors into the world of Lebanese painter Raouf Rifai. The exhibition, organized by Organiss Management and curated by Dr. Tony Karam, unfolded as a carefully composed cultural moment where works from private collections where offered for the public to sample and possibly acquire.

Guests entered a newly opened entrance lobby by The Ritz Carlton’s very own General Manager Mr. Christian El Khoury, where painting, music, and refined hospitality formed a single experience. To the tunes of a live violin performance along with a surprise operatic performance filled the air with a warm resonance while refined bites circulated among collectors, curators, and admirers. The setting offered a sense of ceremony, a fitting environment for an artist whose career has spanned more than five decades and whose visual language continues to unfold across continents.

A Life Shaped by Art and Thought

Born in Lebanon in 1954, Raouf Rifai built his artistic journey through dedication to both craft and intellectual inquiry. He graduated in Decorative Art from the Institute of Fine Arts in Beirut in 1982 and later completed a doctoral degree in urbanism at the Sorbonne University in Paris. This dual formation nurtured a painter attentive to structure, memory, and the shifting forms of society. His canvases draw from the histories and cultural layers of the Middle East, presenting figures and symbols that carry emotional weight and social meaning. Over the years his works have entered numerous public and private collections and have appeared in solo exhibitions, biennales, and museums across Europe, the Middle East, the United States, and Asia.
