The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
In light of the continued Israeli attacks on various regions in conjunction with the incursion of Israeli forces into Lebanese territory in flagrant violation of international resolutions and a violation of Lebanese sovereignty, and following the launching of missiles and drones from Lebanese territory, the Army Command confirms its follow-up to the implementation of the decisions of the political authority in a manner that takes into account the supreme national interest.
In this context, the Army Command continues to coordinate with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon – UNIFIL and the Supervisory Committee for the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement (Mechanism) to stop Israeli attacks, while the military units implement the repositioning of some border points within the sectors of responsibility assigned to them in light of the limited capabilities available, and apply exceptional measures to maintain security and prevent armed manifestations in various regions. In this context, during the past two days, army checkpoints arrested 26 Lebanese and one Palestinian in several areas for illegally possessing weapons and ammunition.
These units also enhanced their deployment on the eastern borders in coordination with the relevant Syrian authorities.
