The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nasr al-Din, held a press conference at the Ministry’s Health Emergency Operations Center, in which he presented updated statistics on the number of martyrs and wounded due to the prolonged Israeli aggression against Lebanon and the massacres that were recorded during the last forty-eight hours. He also touched on targeting the health and hospital sector and emergency services in more than one Lebanese region.

Minister Nasser al-Din began the conference by pointing out that the Israeli enemy is increasing the pace of aggression in a way that affects civilians based on what the statistics numbers show, stressing at the same time that the martyrs are not just numbers, but rather they are Lebanese who sacrificed in this country, and they are family members who are being targeted inside their homes, including a large number of children and women in addition to ambulance men, which confirms that the targeting is not for the military or military installations.

Total tally:
Minister Dr. Nasser al-Din presented the toll of martyrs and wounded since the start of the aggression at dawn on Monday, March 2, according to the following:
Number of martyrs: 394 martyrs, including 83 children and 42 women.
Number of wounded: 1,130 wounded, including 254 children and 274 women.

Regarding the massacres of the past forty-eight hours:
Shemstar, Baalbek District: Six martyrs from members of one family (four children, mother, and father).
Khirbet Selm, Bint Jbeil district: six martyrs and five wounded.
Al-Batam Mountains, Tire District: Four martyrs and four wounded.
Raouche, Beirut: Four martyrs and ten wounded.
Tuffhata – Sidon District: Six martyrs.
Aitit, Tire District: Four martyrs.
Sir al-Gharbiyya, Nabatieh District: 11 martyrs and six wounded, including children, and rescue work is still continuing to this day.
Prophet Shit:
First strike: 12 martyrs and 27 wounded.
Second strike: 26 martyrs and 13 wounded.

Ambulance sector
Regarding the emergency sector, Minister Dr. Rakan Nasser al-Din announced that the toll of martyrs and wounded in the sector has so far reached nine martyrs and sixteen wounded, according to the following:
Al-Qalila Center, Tire District: Three martyrs.
Kawthariya Al-Siyad, Sidon District: Three martyrs in an ambulance.
Al-Nabi Sheet, Baalbek District: Three martyrs while carrying out their field ambulance missions.
Siddiqin, Tire District: Six wounded while carrying out their duties.
Al-Halusiyah, Tire district: two wounded.
Jebshit, Nabatieh district: four wounded.
Khirbet Selm, Bint Jbeil District: Three wounded.
Srifa, Tire district: wounded
The destruction of a center for the Al-Resala Association in Al-Qalila, Tyre district, was also recorded, in addition to partial damage to first aid centers in Kafr Rumman and Qaqiat Al-Jisr Ansar, Nabatieh district.

Minister Nasser Al-Din stressed that the members of the ambulance teams carry out their duty responsibly and without compensation, and sacrifice their lives in order to fulfill their humanitarian duty. He stressed that what is happening constitutes a flagrant violation of all international agreements and treaties, and the Geneva Convention.
He appealed to the international community, saying: “The direct targeting of medical and emergency teams that is being committed is massive violence that constitutes a major violation of all international agreements and the Geneva Convention. It is a very dangerous and unacceptable matter, and the international community must put an end to these grave violations and violations.”

Hospital sector
The Minister of Public Health addressed the reality of the hospital sector, pointing out that the hospitals that went out of service under the weight of Israeli threats are: Bahman Hospital, Al-Sahel Hospital, Bint Jbeil Governmental Hospital, Mays Al-Jabal Governmental Hospital, and Al-Burj Hospital.
He said that four hospitals were partially damaged: Hasbaya Hospital, Bahman Hospital, Jabal Amel Hospital, and Al-Najda Hospital.
The Minister of Public Health confirmed that the Ministry provides all health facilities to the displaced and sick families, thanking the first responders for their efforts in evacuating the wounded and sick to hospitals in safer areas. He expressed his deep regret for the loss of two patient martyrs during the transfer process, after they were safe in intensive care.
He stressed that the Ministry continues to stand by the Lebanese, calling on all hospitals to continue the advanced role they play in confronting a merciless aggression that does not give guarantees. He also paid tribute to the hospitals that opened their doors, the doctors, nurses, and all health workers, noting the patriotic spirit they exhibit.
He added that this is a message addressed to the Lebanese state so that it understands all the demands made by the ministry to support the health sector and enhance budgets with the aim of improving the situation of health workers who do not neglect their duties despite the severity of the crises.
