The distinguished Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmed Qabalan considered that the positions of US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are not shocking.
He said in the Friday message: “The nature of these two personalities is that they live in endless hatred against Islam, with all its sects, and even against all religions, against a background of self-interests obsessed with hating the other and projects to kill them and plunder their wealth.”
He added: “Everyone should understand that the dispute in Lebanon is never religious, nor will it ever be religious. The truth is that the dispute is par excellence political in the midst of a country that lives on foreign oxygen and which leads the most dangerous projects of domination, control and plunder through its military bases.”
He believed that what is dangerous is that most of this country’s authorities are being installed from abroad with the background of employing them in a role that serves the interests of abroad, not the interests of Lebanon.
He stressed that “Lebanon’s sovereignty today is at the southern border and at the heart of the political decision, and both are inseparable from each other, and the West is not helpful, and the West’s history is of holocausts, atrocities, and internal strife, and the Lebanese judiciary is called upon to be patriotic.”
