We all breathed a sight of relief when a 10-day ceasefire came into effect at midnight. And while this brings a pause in hostilities, the danger on the ground is still there.
Mines Advisory Group (MAG) Lebanon and the Lebanese Mine Action Center (LMAC) are urging the public to remain extremely cautious. Residents are strongly advised not to approach or touch any unexploded munitions or remnants of war, particularly in areas that have seen recent bombings.
If you spot anything suspicious, report it immediately by calling 05-956143.
As people begin returning to damaged neighborhoods, the risk of encountering unexploded ordnance is very real. Touching or climbing these objects for fun or a photo-op could be a deadly mistake.
Stay safe, everyone.
