A 10-day ceasefire has led many people to return to their villages in the South, even if only briefly, to check on their homes and land. One Lebanese woman, however, remained hesitant and chose to stay behind due to the ongoing uncertainty.

Her daughter decided to go ahead of her and check on their home. While there, she filmed a video of the family’s chicken coop and showed her mother that all of their chickens (her babies) had survived. You can watch the full video here:

Relieved, the mother made the decision to return shortly after, just to see them herself. Her return turned into a heartwarming reunion with her chickens.

As people begin to cautiously return to the South during the ceasefire, even small moments like this carry a deeper sense of relief and joy seeing our people seeing our people reconnect with home.
