Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi confirmed that “the diplomatic clock has not stopped,” expressing continued optimism in the possibility of reaching a negotiated settlement between the United States and Iran.
Andrabi stressed, during a press conference, that his country “will continue to make its sincere efforts to bring viewpoints closer between the parties concerned,” as part of efforts aimed at reducing the escalation in the region.
He stressed that Pakistan is “committed to continuing to facilitate dialogue between Washington and Tehran,” pointing out that channels of communication with both sides remain open despite the existing tensions.
The spokesman explained that “communication continues with a number of countries with the aim of maintaining an atmosphere of calm in the Middle East,” at a time when the region is witnessing increasing military escalation and rapid field developments.
