Spain calls for an end to the war on Iran and for Lebanon to be included in any ceasefire agreement

Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albarez called for an end to the war on Iran, stressing the necessity of including Lebanon in the agreement, noting his country’s support for efforts in this context, which he conveyed to his Iranian counterpart.

Regarding southern Lebanon, Albarez considered that what is happening is an application of “military and political diplomacy” and is similar to what happened in Gaza, pointing out that this reality hinders the return of residents to their lands.

As for the American bases in Spain, “they are still operating after US President Donald Trump threatened to withdraw soldiers from them,” according to what Albarez said, stressing that the final decision regarding these bases remains subject to Spanish sovereignty.

In the same context, Albarez criticized what he described as an “illegal situation” against the backdrop of Israel’s arrest of a Spanish citizen who was on board the “Global Resilience Fleet,” noting that some of the detainees needed medical examinations in hospitals.

Today, it was announced that 31 activists were injured as a result of the Israeli aggression that targeted the “Global Resilience Fleet” in international waters in the Mediterranean Sea, while it was heading to the Gaza Strip with the aim of delivering humanitarian aid and breaking the siege imposed on it.
