Iranian state television reported on Saturday that Pakistani Army Commander Field Marshal Asim Munir left the capital, Tehran, today, after his second meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
Earlier today, during his visit to Iran, Mounir met with the Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council, Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf, where the latter affirmed that his country “will not give up its rights and the rights of its people, and that it will seek in the arena of diplomacy with intelligence and strength to fulfill the country’s legitimate rights and secure its national interests.”
This meeting came after Mounir also met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and his Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, where the two sides exchanged views on the latest diplomatic efforts and initiatives to prevent the escalation of tension and end the war imposed by the United States and the Israeli occupation against Iran.
Pezeshkian: The experience of negotiating with the Americans requires us to be precise and cautious
For his part, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed, during his meeting with the Pakistani army commander, that Iran seeks to fulfill the legitimate and legal rights of its people, recalling that the experience of negotiating with the Americans requires the Iranians to exercise the utmost precision and caution.
Pezeshkian also pointed out that if the aggression is repeated, the United States will not be victorious, and it will be the countries of the region and the world that will suffer heavy losses.
He explained: “The Zionist entity is the only party seeking to achieve its interests by igniting war in the region.”
The two sides also discussed ways to enhance peace, stability and security in the West Asia region.
