He followed up on the general situation, developments, and legislative affairs during his meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Governor of the Bank of Lebanon. In the afternoon, he received the Army Commander, General Rudolph Heikal, and issued a statement about the ceasefire agreement.

President Nabih Berri: For a complete, comprehensive and unconditional ceasefire on land, sea and air, without bulldozing and demolishing everything that exists.

Bou Saab: Speaker Berri wants to prepare the atmosphere to invite a public body to approve the laws drawn up by the House of Representatives Bureau.

His Excellency the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Nabih Berri, received at the headquarters of the Second Presidency in Ain al-Tineh the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Elias Bou Saab, where the meeting dealt with developments in the general situation, the latest political developments, and legislative affairs. After the meeting, Abu Saab spoke, saying: The meeting was today with His Excellency President Berri, in which we discussed several topics, beginning with the security situation and the repeated attacks in the south and on all Lebanese lands, and a path to the so-called ceasefire negotiations.
Bou Saab added: I found that Speaker Berri is aware of all the details, and, God willing, there is an effort being worked on, whether through negotiation, or through communication with Speaker Berri to reach a stage through which we can end this crisis and this difficult stage that Lebanon is going through.
Bou Saab continued: Speaker Berri asked that we prepare the atmosphere and prepare the appropriate ground calmly and in a “corridor” in preparation for establishing a general assembly for the purpose of legislation and completing the agenda of the general assembly that was set by the Council’s Bureau in the last meeting, and everyone knows that this session was postponed for reasons that were beyond our control, which are the tensions that were occurring and the incitement that was taking place in the street.
Bou Saab concluded: Speaker Berri thought that postponing the session was possible in order to prepare the ground, because the laws on the agenda are necessary, and Speaker Berri wants to prepare the atmosphere for a call for a general body to approve these laws.

President Berri also followed up on the general situation, especially the financial situation, during his meeting with the Governor of the Bank of Lebanon, Karim Said.
In the afternoon, the Speaker of Parliament also received Army Commander General Rudolf Heikal, where the latest political and field developments were presented in light of Israel’s continued aggression against Lebanon and the conditions of the military establishment.

On another level, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nabih Berri, issued the following:
Instead of this hybrid agreement

  • We could have read in the affirmative at the beginning of the text if it had read an unconditional ceasefire on land, sea and air and without demolishing everything that exists.

(But it was booby-trapped, which led to a complete ceasefire by Hezbollah, as well as the evacuation of all its members from the south of the Litani.)

  • I could have read it positively if I had read (withdrawal outside the occupied borders), but it was a trap (in experimental areas without the entry of any actors!!!??).
  • In order not to prolong this, I agree to the following:
1- A complete, comprehensive and unconditional ceasefire is understood on land, sea and air, without bulldozing or demolishing everything that exists.
2 – Hezbollah’s withdrawal from southern Litani in parallel with the Israeli withdrawal from the areas it occupied.
The rest of the text is unfair and not worth mentioning.
