The President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, discussed with the Norwegian Ambassador to Lebanon, Ms. Hilde Haraldstad, the general situation in Lebanon and the region, and Lebanon’s position on current developments. The research also touched on bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in various fields.
Ambassador Haraldstad affirmed her country’s support for the positions and decisions taken by the President of the Republic and the government to extend state sovereignty over its entire territory, in general, and in the south in particular, and for the path that was launched after the announcement of the “framework formula” emerging from the Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations in Washington.
The Ambassador also affirmed Norway’s readiness to provide humanitarian and social assistance to confront the displacement crisis resulting from the bombing of southern villages and towns.
