The Financial Times reported on Saturday that the US administration led by Donald Trump is preparing to unveil a series of grants in Europe and beyond to support initiatives consistent with the Make America Great Again movement, known by its acronym (MAGA), as part of its effort to radically reform US foreign aid priorities.
The report, citing a copy of a notification the State Department sent to lawmakers, noted that the proposed grants include $2 million to “counter-surveillance” stemming from EU regulations, including the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act.
Reuters has not yet been able to verify the authenticity of the report.
