The Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health issued a statement announcing that the Israeli enemy targeted ambulance teams three times in a row in the town of Mifdoun, Nabatieh district, which led to the death of three paramedics and the wounding of six, and one of the paramedics is still missing.
In detail, an ambulance team affiliated with the Health Authority was targeted while trying to rescue injured people, which led to the death of a paramedic, while the second paramedic is still missing.
When a second ambulance headed to the Health Authority to rescue the paramedics, it was targeted, wounding three paramedics.
In a third rescue attempt, two ambulances went to each of Al Resala Association and Nabatieh Ambulance, and were also targeted, leading to the death of two paramedics and the wounding of three.
The Ministry of Public Health strongly condemns this described crime, which reflects the Israeli enemy’s insistence on preventing paramedics from performing their rescue work in any way, to the point that they have become a target of the enemy who is relentlessly pursuing them in a flagrant violation that confirms the disregard for all norms and principles recognized by international humanitarian law.
The Ministry calls on international humanitarian organizations to work to put an end to this dangerous violation of the right of the wounded person to rescue and the first responder to protection, in order to preserve the human conscience and the prestige of international laws.
