One of Lebanon’s most beloved spots for a quick and delicious meal, Al Jawad took a serious hit when enemy airstrikes damaged several of its locations (most notably the branch in Beirut’s southern suburbs). For the many regulars who had built memories around meals and gatherings there, the loss was deeply felt. But here’s some welcome news: Al Jawad is opening a new branch in Hamra, and it’s coming soon.
Details are still scarce, with no confirmed opening date yet and no word on whether it will offer dine-in, delivery, or both. Still, just spotting that familiar storefront has already got us dreaming about lunch breaks.
What began as a small bakery in Tire in 1992 gradually grew into a full restaurant, eventually expanding to Chiyah in 2009 and earning its place as one of Lebanon’s go-to destinations for honest, satisfying food. With the Hamra branch on the horizon, those familiar flavors will soon have a new home.
In the meantime, here’s hoping the Chiyah branch makes its comeback too. Keep an eye on them Instagram for updates!
