Today, Friday, Anthropic launched (Opus 5), its latest model of artificial intelligence, which the startup says is close to the capabilities of its most powerful model (Fable 5), but at half the price.
The San Francisco-based company added that the new artificial intelligence model from the Claude family is well suited for daily office tasks and computer programming tasks.
Diane Bean, product manager at Anthropic, said in an interview with Reuters that this version, which is more efficient than the model (Opus 4.8) that it introduced in May, reflects the rapid pace of development.
“We are constantly building and continuing to deliver groundbreaking (artificial) intelligence, making it as accessible as possible with each generation of models,” Bean added.
Tests showed that (Opus 5) was less able to exploit Internet vulnerabilities compared to Anthropic’s advanced artificial intelligence system, so the preventive measures associated with it were less restrictive than those applied in (Fable 5).
Anthropic reported that Opus 5 was less susceptible to tampering and misuse than other current models from the startup.
The Fable 5 model, which was released in June, became temporarily unavailable following US concerns that its capabilities might be exploited for foreign military intelligence.
Bain explained that users should choose (Opus 5) for its value and (Fable 5) “for projects that take several days and are characterized by a high degree of work free from human intervention.”
