Belgian media revealed that the Belgian authorities confiscated at Liège Airport a shipment of military equipment coming from the United Kingdom that was prepared to be loaded onto a Challenge Airlines plane heading to the occupied territories, after an alert from a non-governmental organization concerned with monitoring the movement of weapons to conflict areas.

Upon opening 33 boxes, inspectors found sensitive military equipment, including lasers, sights, fire control systems and components used in combat aircraft, which are materials that require strict authorization before crossing Belgian territory, which the shipment did not contain.

Belgium prohibits the use of its territory as a passage for military equipment destined for the occupied territories, and the authorities believe that those involved attempted to circumvent the law by incompletely declaring the contents of the shipment. The concerned authorities filed an official complaint and opened an investigation to determine who organized the operation.
