The director of Mr. Sistani’s office in Lebanon, Haj Hamid Al-Khafaf, stated the following:
In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful
Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, and prayers and peace be upon Muhammad and his good and pure family.
With the beginning of the aggression against Lebanon in March 2026, the office of His Eminence Sayyed al-Sistani, may he live in Lebanon, began its relief work with the displaced in all Lebanese regions. His activity has crystallized in supporting charitable organizations and individual initiatives for those providing services to the displaced, supporting large and small kitchens that provide thousands of meals to them, and also supporting religious scholars and community leaders who are working to shelter the displaced in the areas to which they have fled, as well as supporting religious scholars and activists to help those steadfast in their towns and villages throughout the crisis. All these types of support are still continuing.
An electronic medical form was also launched since the first days of the aggression, enabling the needy displaced patient, wherever he was in Lebanon, to obtain financial assistance that would be sent to the relevant hospital. The form is still ongoing and receives dozens of applications daily.
Then it was decided to provide material assistance to the needy displaced people, so the idea was the electronic form that was launched on April 2nd until April 9th around the clock. When the form was closed, the number of submitted applications reached (86,633) applications, and after review and auditing operations, it was found that the number of duplicate applications was (5,305) applications. The number of applications accepted if the necessary conditions were met was (74,367) applications. The scheduled financial assistance was delivered to them via a money transfer company on their phones. There are technical problems in delivering it to a limited number, which are being resolved. Thus, the financial assistance project via the electronic form ends. As for reopening it again, it is left to circumstances and the future.
In conclusion, we extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to providing financial resources for the success of this important humanitarian project, especially the generous Iraqi people – who answered the call of the Supreme Authority to help the displaced in Lebanon – of all kinds: their poor before their rich! And their young before their old! And their women before their men. In human scenes that words cannot describe. May God reward them with the best reward.
We also extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the dozens of cadres who worked to make the project a success, diligently, sincerely, and tirelessly for two months. May God reward them.
It remains for us to apologize to our honorable people in Lebanon for any error or oversight that occurred on our part. We have made every effort to deliver assistance to the largest segment of displaced people in need, and we hope that we have succeeded in doing so. We pledge to God Almighty and all the Lebanese that we will continue to serve our displaced people now and in the future to the extent possible with new initiatives until God lifts the burden on this nation.
I swear there is no intention behind it.
May God have mercy on the martyrs, heal the wounded, and return the displaced to their towns and villages with dignity and dignity.
Our last supplication is: Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.
