Today, Tuesday, the Lebanese-Palestinian border witnessed a state of widespread security alert, according to Israeli media, which reported an exchange of fire after an armed infiltration near the Ramim mountain range in the Upper Galilee.
The occupation Army Radio confirmed that a gunman succeeded in infiltrating “the Israeli side of the border and opened fire on the Israeli forces,” noting that this was certainly an exceptional event, especially in light of the fact that “our forces maintain a security strip several kilometers deep inside Lebanese territory.”
The radio said that the infiltration incident, despite the “army” imposing a security belt kilometers deep inside Lebanon, represents an operational failure that undermines efficiency.
For its part, Israeli Channel 12 reported that a gunman opened fire at an Israeli force near the border strip with Lebanon, while the occupation forces continued combing operations and searched for a second gunman who is believed to have been accompanying the attacker in the border area.
Following the incident, the occupation authorities called on residents of the Misgav Am, Margaliot and Al-Manara settlements in northern occupied Palestine to remain at home and not leave them until further notice, in conjunction with an intensive deployment of occupation forces in the vicinity of the accident site.
The occupied Lebanese-Palestinian border has witnessed continuous security tension since the outbreak of war in Gaza in October 2023, as the occupation continues its violations and aggression against Lebanon.
On the other hand, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon – Hezbollah, continues its operations against occupation groups and sites, in defense of Lebanon and its people and in response to the Israeli aggression against the country.
