On Saturday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards denied signing any agreement with the United States tomorrow, Sunday, criticizing US President Donald Trump’s “insistence” on signing the agreement on that day.

The Revolutionary Guard described the timetable as “a test for the Iranian negotiating team,” and that Trump’s announcement comes “despite the Iranian negotiators explicitly stating that the memorandum of understanding has not yet been drafted, and that the signing on Sunday will definitely not take place.”

In a post on the Telegram application, the Revolutionary Guard indicated that Trump had the intention of setting the date of the signing to coincide with Trump’s birthday on June 14.

The statement said: “Some observers believe that his insistence may be motivated by a desire to exploit the occasion symbolically and turn it into a personal propaganda event.”

Trump said earlier, on Saturday, that an agreement with Iran “is scheduled to be signed tomorrow,” adding that “as soon as it is signed, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened to everyone.”

He added in a post on his “Truth Social” platform, “At the right time, and when the situation calms down, we will reach the nuclear dust buried deep in the powerful rocky mountains, using B-2 bombers and their skilled pilots, then we will mix it and destroy it, whether inside Iran or in the United States.”

The details of signing the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran are still unclear. The options proposed by American and Iranian officials include signing the agreement “remotely,” perhaps followed by a joint signing in person at a later time.
