“In the Beginning Was the Word”
In an attempt to navigate through a time of uncertainty, we are pleased to present a solo exhibition by Fadi Balhawan.
A visionary artist whose practice transforms language into image. Working with fountain pen, pastel, acrylic, and watercolor, Balhawan constructs detailed compositions where words are not simply written, they become form.
Drawing from literary and spiritual texts such as the Quran, the Bible, books written by Gebran Khalil Gebran, Alexander Dumas, and plays by William Shakespeare; his works unfold as layered visual fields. What first appears as color and movement gradually reveals deeper narrative, sentences, verses, and passages woven into a meditative experience of reading and seeing.
Balhawan’s practice exists at the intersection of literature and visual art, inviting viewers to slow down, look closer, and rediscover the power of words.
