Today, Tuesday, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence announced the arrest of 30 people on charges of espionage and working for the United States and the Israeli occupation entity, in security operations carried out during the past days in a number of Iranian provinces.
In a statement, the ministry said that the General Department of Intelligence in Khorasan Razavi Province was able to identify a foreign person and arrest him on charges of spying for two countries in the Gulf region on behalf of the United States and “Israel.”
According to the statement, the accused was collecting sensitive military and security information and handing it over to these two countries, which “in turn placed it at the disposal of the American-Zionist enemy.”
In Sistan and Baluchestan Province, intelligence arrested an element belonging to a terrorist group stationed on the country’s southeastern border, while he was spying and collecting information about the locations and movements of military and security forces and air defense installations.
The Intelligence Department in Kurdistan Governorate also reported the arrest of a member of a separatist group while trying to transfer a shipment of communications devices to members of that group inside the country, as special communications equipment was seized in his possession.
In a joint operation between intelligence and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in the same province, a military shipment was seized, which the authorities said had been sent by a separatist terrorist group for use in a plan targeting Iranian territorial integrity.
The statement explained that the operation resulted in the arrest of two mediators, while a third person was killed by members of the group.
The ministry added that 19 people from “anti-revolutionary field and media elements” accused of working for “Israel” were also arrested, as they were planning to implement projects linked to Washington and “Tel Aviv” in eight governorates inside the country.
In a joint operation between the Ministry and the Internal Security Forces in Tehran, the authorities announced the “arrest of six thugs” for acting as “operational forces” on behalf of “Israel” and violating national and Islamic values.
