Finding a restaurant in Beirut is easy, but booking a table? Personally, I dread the experience.
If you’re the type of person who HATES calling up places to make reservations, or you’re at the office and can’t be caught making calls, then I’m here to tell you about the Plate app.
The app streamlines the booking process by letting you browse restaurants, explore their menus, and reserve a table in just a few taps without making a single phone call. Naturally, I had to put it to the test, so here’s what my experience was like using Plate to book dinner in Beirut.
The app features plenty of popular restaurants that often fill up, making it easy to secure a table. You’ll find spots like Le Sushi Bar, Suki, Couqley, GOU, Le Pelican, and more. My friends and I were in the mood for Italian, so we decided on Mario e Mario.
After choosing a restaurant, you’ll be able to view its location, opening hours, reviews, and other helpful information. After clicking on “Book a Table”, you can choose the date and time (yes, even if it’s the same day), how many guests are coming, and your preferred seating.
The booking process couldn’t have been simpler. Once we submitted our reservation, we received a confirmation through the app within about 10 minutes. I was a little skeptical at first and wondered whether the reservation had actually gone through, but when I was running about five minutes late, I received a call to check whether I was still coming.
Another feature I really liked was the rewards system. After arriving at your restaurant, ask for the Plate QR code. Every five scans earn you a $50 voucher. It’s a simple but effective incentive that makes you want to keep using the app for future reservations.
Honestly, the experience was so smooth that I decided to recommend it to my friends as well. Especially the introverts who hate calling up places to make reservations.
You can download the Plate app via iOS or Androidand make sure to follow them on Instagram for more!
