The Directorate of Public Relations at the National Social Security Fund announced in a statement, “In light of the continuing exceptional circumstances that the country is going through, and the inability of many displaced families to return to their homes, the Fund’s management continues to adopt measures to ensure the continuity of health coverage for those insured, based on its commitment to providing them with decent health care and not burdening them with any additional financial burdens. And in continuation of the exceptional measures that the Fund had previously adopted since the beginning of the crisis, the Director General of the Fund, Dr. Muhammad, issued a statement Karaki issued an information memorandum dated 7/10/2026 bearing the number 841, according to which it was decided to extend the effectiveness of the information memorandum No. 826 dated 3/6/2026 until August 31, 2026, in order to make room for the insured displaced persons to complete their transactions pending the improvement of the security situation and the return of stability.
This extension includes the continuation of all exceptional facilities previously approved, especially:
- Allowing the benefit of sickness and maternity insurance benefits and obtaining hospital approvals when it is not possible to present some of the required documents, after signing a pledge to bring them as soon as the situation stabilizes.
- Extending the effectiveness of expired social investigations
- Facilitating advance and delayed approval procedures and allowing – when necessary – the issuance of more than one approval for dialysis during one month in accordance with the approved procedures.
The Fund’s management reminds all hospitals, doctors, and all insured persons of the necessity of adhering to the provisions of Circular No. 935/2023, which clearly confirmed that medical prescriptions subject to the Fund’s coverage are regulated and their value is paid in Lebanese pounds, and calls on all insured persons not to hesitate to contact the hotline (71-702027) or to visit the Fund’s offices and centers, in the event of facing any problem related to insurance contributions.”
Karki stressed that “Social Security will remain alongside the insured in various circumstances, and that securing health coverage and protecting their rights will remain at the top of its priorities,” stressing that “everyone who has a right to security will receive it in full, because it was created to be a support for the citizen in the most difficult circumstances and throughout his life.”
