Ogero on the Dekwaneh fire: Releasing speculation distorts the course of the investigation


The Ogero Authority clarifies to public opinion that the fire that broke out yesterday in the warehouses of the Ministry of Communications and the Ogero Authority in Dekwaneh is the subject of close follow-up by the competent authorities, and the relevant security and judicial agencies have begun their investigations to fully uncover the circumstances of the incident and determine its causes and circumstances. In this context, the Authority confirms its full cooperation with the competent authorities, and places all the necessary capabilities and information at its disposal to ensure reaching the truth as quickly as possible. The Authority also calls on the media and social media outlets and all concerned to exercise the highest levels of responsibility. And accuracy, and refraining from circulating or publishing any conclusions, hypotheses or accusations that are not based on official data or the results of ongoing investigations. Releasing unsubstantiated speculation or circulating unconfirmed information does not contribute to revealing the truth, but may lead to confusion in the course of the investigation, endanger the safety of the institution and its employees, and may reflect negatively on the efforts made by the competent authorities to uncover the facts and determine responsibilities. To all official, security, military, municipal and civil authorities that contributed to fighting the fire and limiting its spread.
