Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nabih Berri, received at the headquarters of the Second Presidency in Ain al-Tineh a delegation of unions of the liberal professions in Lebanon, in the presence of the official of the central office of unions and liberal professions in the Amal Movement, Dr. Mahdi Ayoub, where the meeting discussed the latest developments in the general situation in Lebanon and the repercussions of the Israeli aggression on various sectors, in addition to union affairs related to the liberal professions in Lebanon.
The meeting included a speech by the head of the Beirut Bar Association, Imad Martinus, in which he stressed that the repercussions of the war and the suffering it caused forced a change in priorities. The Lebanese are called upon to rally around legitimate institutions and work together to overcome the delicate stage, while looking forward to a national initiative to launch an urgent dialogue that unites efforts and puts everyone before their national responsibilities.
He added: There is no doubt that you are pained by the killing and destruction our people are subjected to at the hands of the Israeli war machine in flagrant violation of international laws and norms, despite Lebanese and international demands for a ceasefire, a halt to targeting civilians, withdrawal from the occupied territories, the release of prisoners, and the start of reconstruction. However, the Israeli enemy continues its aggression and massacres, obstructing the arrival of a just and lasting solution that guarantees Lebanon’s liberation, stability, and peace.
He continued: The nation is in safe hands and that you are up to the challenge. We look forward with you to strengthening cooperation between the authorities to provide the minimum level of political stability that embraces security stability, with the guarantee of the Lebanese army, which watches over the safety of the nation and its citizens.
Martinus concluded: It goes without saying that the liberal professions, captains, councils, and members, stand with the state and its institutions, and with the Lebanese people in the face of the continuing Israeli massacre. We put all our capabilities to enable our state to strengthen national unity, spread its culture, and spread its literature. We also express our confidence in your leadership and your ability to pull Lebanon out of its crises and lead it toward salvation and stability. .
