Three schools in Beirut… transformed within days into safe spaces for families forced to leave their homes.
Patriarchal School, Al Bayada School, and Hariri High School II are no longer only places of learning. They have become shelter centers hosting displaced families during these difficult circumstances. There, Makhzoumi Foundation teams visited these centers to assess the needs of the families and provide what was necessary for their comfort inside classrooms that have been turned into spaces for sleeping and temporary living.
During the visits, more than 5,351 mattresses, blankets, sleeping mats, water cans, and solar-powered lamps were distributed.
These are stories of solidarity repeated in many places… where schools become hosting spaces, and humanitarian action becomes a bridge of support.

Schools are a safe haven
Three schools in Beirut… were transformed in a few days into a safety space for families who were forced to leave their homes.
The Patriarchate School, Al-Bayader School, and the Second Hariri Secondary School are no longer only places of education, but have also become shelter centers that embrace displaced families in these difficult circumstances. There, Makhzoumi Foundation teams visited these centers to learn about the needs of the families, and to provide what was necessary for their comfort inside the classrooms that had been turned into places for sleeping and staying. During the visits, more than 5,351 mattresses, blankets, sleeping mats, gallons of water, and solar lamps were distributed.
These are stories of solidarity that are repeated in more than one place… where schools turn into hosting centers, and humanitarian work turns into a bridge of support.
