Solar Energy for Shelters – Makhzoumi Foundation


Makhzoumi Foundation team has transformed its accumulated experience in sustainable energy development projects into a key tool in crisis response. This development expertise, carried out in collaboration with the Beirut Municipality and the Disaster Risk Management Room in the Beirut Governorate, has been mobilized within the current humanitarian response, with the Foundation’s teams quickly installing solar-powered lighting at Camille Chamoun Sports City to ensure adequate lighting and improve living conditions for displaced families. Through this intervention, the Makhzoumi Foundation continues to connect its long-term development experience with emergency humanitarian response, supporting communities during difficult times.

The Makhzoumi Foundation team has transformed its accumulated experience in development projects that promote sustainable energy into an essential tool in responding to crises. This development expertise was employed within the framework of the current humanitarian response, as the Foundation’s teams rushed to install solar-powered lighting inside the Camille Chamoun Sports City to ensure the availability of lighting and improve housing conditions for displaced families. Through this intervention and in cooperation with the Director of Sports Facilities, Dr. Naji Hammoud, Lebanese Red Cross, Ministry of Social Affairs and Disaster Management Authority, Makhzoumi Foundation continues to link its long-term development expertise to emergency humanitarian response, supporting communities in difficult times.
