Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri sent a cable to the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Dr. Nabil Fahmy, congratulating him on the occasion of his appointment as Secretary-General of the League. The text of the telegram stated:
It gives me pleasure to extend, in my name and on behalf of the Lebanese Parliament, my warmest congratulations on your selection for the position of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, unanimously among its members, wishing you success and success in accomplishing the tasks entrusted to you at this delicate stage through which our nation and our Arab region are going through grave challenges in its unity, security, and stability.

President Berri added in the congratulatory telegram: We are all confident that you are qualified to lead this stage by employing your ability, experience and competence in order to work to awaken Arab awareness at all levels to unify visions and positions towards achieving and embodying the joint Arab action that our nation needs today more than ever before in word and deed to achieve a safer, more stable and more prosperous Arab future.

On the other hand, President Berri received at the headquarters of the Second Presidency in Ain al-Tineh the representative of the religious authority Sheikh Bashir al-Najafi in Lebanon and Syria, the scholar Sheikh Ali Bahsoun and the judge Sheikh Abdel Halim Sharara.

The Speaker of Parliament also received the family of the martyr, Brigadier General of the Lebanese Army, Wissam Sabra, who was martyred as a result of the Israeli aggression against a Lebanese army vehicle in the Khardali area in the south.
