The Jordanian army announces the interception of 4 Iranian missiles and the fall of two in remote areas


The Jordanian army announced in a statement on Wednesday that it intercepted four Iranian missiles and two landed in remote, populated areas.

An official military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army stated that, on Wednesday, air defense systems detected 6 missiles coming from Iranian territory targeting the Kingdom’s territory, and dealt with them as soon as they entered the airspace.

According to Al-Mamlaka TV, the source confirmed that the air defenses intercepted and shot down four missiles, while the other two missiles fell in two remote areas devoid of residents, without causing human casualties or material damage.

He added that the Royal Engineering Corps teams moved to the sites of the two missiles and the fragments resulting from the interception operations, and worked to secure the sites and deal with the waste in accordance with the applicable technical and security procedures.

The source confirmed that the Kingdom’s airspace is subject to continuous operational monitoring, and that the Armed Forces will deal with any air threat targeting Jordanian territory in accordance with the applicable rules of engagement, in a way that ensures the protection of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and the safety of its citizens.

Today, sirens sounded in the Jordanian city of Aqaba, after detecting a security threat, while the relevant forces activated air defense systems to deal with air targets.
