Health officials in Gaza reported on Sunday that at least three Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks, including two Hamas police officers, in developments that reflect the fragility of the ceasefire reached with American mediation.
Medics explained that an air strike targeted the Maghazi refugee camp, killing one person, while the Ministry of Interior in Gaza announced that another raid resulted in the killing of Khan Yunis Police Director of Investigation, Wissam Abdel Hadi, and his assistant.
According to reports reported by Reuters, Israel has recently escalated its targeting of Hamas police forces, in light of the movement’s attempts to re-establish its control in the areas under its control.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army regarding the two incidents.
These developments come despite the continuation of the ceasefire declared in October 2025, as attacks continue on an almost daily basis, according to what paramedics in the Strip reported.
According to medical data in Gaza, at least 850 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire took effect, while Israel says that four of its soldiers were killed during the same period, amid an exchange of accusations between the two parties of violating the agreement.
Health authorities in Gaza indicate that the death toll since the start of the war in October 2023 has exceeded 72,500 people, most of whom are civilians.
