The Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Representative Hassan Murad, and Representatives Bilal Al-Hashimi and Ashraf Baydoun visited the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun.
Murad said on behalf of the delegation, “Our objective observations were presented regarding the mechanism approved by the Ministry of Education to conduct official exams, and we conveyed the concerns and fears of a wide segment of the educational family, especially students who face difficult security, social, and psychological conditions in various Lebanese regions.”
He added: “We stressed the need to take into account the exceptional circumstances that students are going through, in a way that preserves their safety and guarantees their right to education and taking exams under fair and safe conditions.”
He also announced, “President Aoun was handed a memorandum containing our observations and suggestions on the proposed plan, based on our keenness to protect Lebanon’s unity and maintain the stability of the educational sector. We informed the President of the Republic that the Parliamentary Education Committee will hold an expanded consultative meeting tomorrow with various components of the educational family to complete research into the required steps.”
He pointed out that “we are counting on responding to these demands and proposals, because they represent a national and educational priority at this critical stage.”
