Antique ambrotype 1/6 plate encased photo 1850s, handwritten behind framed photo “Beckwith and Sibble Cook” Pictured is a man and lady sitting next to each other with each holding a book.

Photograph is wrapped in copper frame and encased in a tooled leather and wood frame with latch. (One piece frame) The photo size is 6th plate.

2 3/4” tall
3 1/4” wide

3 5/8” wide
3 1/8 tall

This case is half of the original case frame. It does have the original metal latch hook. The back of the case is tooled leather with a very large cross.

Man's hairstyle appears to be discount either French or an English style from 1800's. Woman has a collared dress. Both are holding a book in their hands.
