Vintage Handcrafted Metal Mesh Treasure Box, Jewelry Box discount or Trinket Box

This interesting handcrafted box can be used for a variety of purposes. It would make a lovely jewelry box or trinket box, or could be used for vanity items like cotton swabs or hair accessories. The box is so attractive that it can be displayed as a work of art.

The box was created by Marian O'Rourke Kaplan and consists of a steel mesh base and copper mesh lid. The accents on the top include a leaf design, and are made out of bronze, steel, brass and copper. As noted on the description card in the box, “the metals are all natural and uncoated, so they will mellow with age.” The box has developed a patina or different colors in different areas on the box. The box is approximately 5” long, approximately 3.5” wide and approximately 1.5” high. I don't know the exact age of the box, but I believe it was produced prior to 2003.
