Hummel Goebel 'Christ Child' Porcelain Figurine

I am delighted to offer this vintage Hummel Goebel 'Christ Child' crafted in porcelain and hand painted with careful attention to details. Modelled by master sculptor Reinhold Unger in 1940.

The piece measures 2-1/4" tall x 3-1/4" wide x 6" long. It is marked with a pressed in "M. I. Hummel" facsimile signature (her personal stamp of approval) on the right side of the base, and the underside is marked with the TMK-3 Large Stylized Bee trademark. Made in Western Germany and produced circa 1957-1963.

Christ Child figurine displays very well, the colors are vivid and it is beautifully detailed. It looks perfect but there are a couple of factory glaze slips. These include the whitish spot on the tip of the nose, the small thin spot on the edge of blanket overlay and the thin white lines below the right eyebrow. These spots were not discount completely covered with glaze revealing the base porcelain clay. The last close-up photo shows these minor flaws. Weight before packaging is 8 oz. Sans original box. Will ship boxed via USPS Priority Mail.
