Vintage Turquoise Sterling discount Silver Brooch Pendant, Vintage 1960s Taxco Mexico, Signed Melecio Rodrigues

Vintage Mexican sterling silver modernist brooch pendant circa 1950s - 1960s. Marked Sterling Mexico in a circular form with M R in the center, with the Eagle Three stamp.
Complete with an attached bail to convert the brooch to a pendant. Measures 1 3/4", Weighs 16.3 grams.

The initials MR are for Melecio Rodriguez who was an independent silversmith artist that produced from the 1940's to 1960's. He worked at Rancho Alegre, and was a contemporary and worked with Sigi Pineda and Margot de Taxco (Margot van Voorhies Carr). Influences discount of both of these latter silversmiths are seen in this brooch.
