Vintage 1980s? Tin Lithographed Friction Rocket - Made in Hungary discount by Lemezaru Gyar

This is a Hungarian-produced tin friction Rocket Spaceship produced in the 1980s by Lamezaru Gyaz. It is based on a 60s concept.

This Rocket measures 15 inches tall. The spring-action nose cone activates the rocket to stand upward when the nose hits the wall, and the ramp unfolds revealing a tin lithographed astronaut inside. Impressive classic toy design and it functions as it should. This comes in its original box. Both the box and rocket are in excellent condition.

This company was brave enough to still manufacture toys in tinplate, during the 1980s, long after everybody else seems to have moved into all plastic construction for their toys. Lemezaru is probably better known in the UK for re-issuing a number discount of 'TECHNOFIX' tinplate toys.
They were sadly out of business during the 1990s.
