Antique Sterling Silver Whiting Heraldic 1880 Art Nouveau Claw Sugar discount Tongs

Presented is an antique pair of sterling silver sugar or small ice tongs made by Whiting discount during the late 1800s. This 19th century piece is done in the Heraldic pattern, which was patented in 1880. The arms are covered in raised, curling leaves surrounding a shield cartouche with a knight's head on top. The feet are in the form of 3 toed talons or claws.

The inside of one leg is marked for WHiting and sterling silver purity.

This piece is in great overall condition. There are no damages, no monograms and no repairs.
